Portable Ruby

Itching to learn Ruby but stymied by the fact that you can't carry around your code with you? Or already fluent but annoyed that you can't easily transport your code? Well, now there's a solution: Portable Ruby.

Portable Ruby requires no installation and runs from a USB drive. The download is small (a zip file of 6,753 KB) and so is the package (size on disk is 6.91 MB). Setup is quick and easy: unzip and click the executable for your operating system.

I ran the run_windows.bat to start Portable Ruby and had no problems.

Adding your scripts is easy: Per the developer:

"1. Add your Ruby scripts to the PortableRuby directory.
2. Modify the start files to point to your Ruby script.

Create your own startup files to run multiple Ruby scripts!"
