Total on Filtered Column in Excel

If you've ever tried to subtotal on a filtered column only to be frustrated that you couldn't, here is your solution: use the subtotal formula.

Subtotal has the following format:

=subtotal(type of operation, range)

So, for instance, you could indicate sum by entering =subtotal(3,a1:a10).  The operation types range from 0-9 and represent choices such as add, count, etc.
