How to Remove Line Breaks in Excel

Sometimes when working in Excel you need to remove numerous line breaks.   Doing such a thing manually would be a tedious and time-consuming task.  Luckily, there is a quick and easy way to tackle the problem:

  1. Open the Find and Replace dialog (easiest way is CTRL+H)
  2. Position the cursor in the find what box and then hold the ALT key and while doing so use the numeric key pad on your keyboard (not the top row number keys) and type 0010.
  3. In the replace with box, enter the replacement text.  I often just enter a space here by hitting the spacebar once.
  4. Click the Replace All button.
That's it.  Review the spreadsheet to see if everything went according to plan.  If so, you're done!
